Bone Grafting
Patients who require an implant will often be advised to undergo a bone grafting procedure. The reason for this is that the bone which will hold the implant is sometimes too thin or soft to properly support the implant. The Specialist Surgeon will a bone grafting material to build up the strength of the bone ahead of the dental implant surgery. If it is a minor graft required, the implant surgery can be done on the same day as the bone graft. If the graft s not minor, the Surgeon may wait a few months before placing the implant.
