Lumineers are the most advanced type of veneer available, made from the same durable and natural looking material as the porcelain veneer, they require minimal preparation of the natural tooth to provide the patient with the look that they desire at less cost to their underlying teeth. Lumineers are thinner than regular porcelain veneers, as thin as a contact lens, though offer the same benefits both in terms of aesthetic appearance and durability. Because the natural tooth requires less, or no, preparation the procedure is faster and can be totally reversible!
Getting a veneer usually requires three visits with our dentist. At the initial visit, the patient is consulted by the specialist doctor and the other two visits are utilised for making and applying the veneers.
During the consultation process, you will be able to convey what your expectations are to the doctor who will provide his expert advice and recommendations. You will be actively involved in the process so as to ensure that you are happy at every stage of progression. Before the veneer is permanently fixed, it will be temporarily placed to examine its fit and the colour. This is your opportunity to make any final adjustments and see how your vision has come to life!
